Plant parasitic nematodes are the hidden profit taker of growers. Left untreated they cause major stunting of plant roots and can transfer soil-borne diseases into plant roots leading to significant crop losses. In the past growers have been reluctant to treat for nematodes due to the highly toxic nature of conventional nematicides, which are not only difficult to apply, but have potential impacts on the environment, soil ecology and fertility.
